OUR CampaignsCan you imagine a world with no animals?

Borneo Rainforest Campaign

Borneo’s rainforests are currently being destroyed at an unprecedented rate. Multinational companies are logging, bulldozing and burning pristine old-growth forests at a phenomenal rate - the equivalent of 300 football fields per hour. These forests can never be replaced. Borneo is one of the richest and most biodiverse regions of the world. According to the UN Food & Agriculture Organisation’s ‘State of the World’s Forests 2007’ report, 80% of the world’s primary forests are located in just 10 countries of which Indonesia is a key one. This wholesale destruction is a crime against the planet and all future generations of all species.

In early May 2007 The Dutch Minister for the Enviornment introduced a framework that identifies guidelines forsustainable palm oil production. In Aprilthe Australian Federal Government announced a $200million package to help save Asian rainforests.Join our Indonesia's rainforests are currently being cleared at a rate of 300 football fields per hour (UN Report 2007)campaign to lobby the Federal Government to introduce legislation into Australia around palm oil sources.
